Our Eisl family

Johann and Brigitte Walcher built the Lindenhof in the 1980s and eventually handed it over to their daughter Petra. The boss now runs the hotel together with her husband Heribert, her son Franz and his partner Patricia. When Petra has time away from her work at the hotel or as a caring mother, she is out and about in the picturesque natural surroundings of the region – just like her husband Heribert, who, as a certified mountain and ski guide and chairman of the Ramsau mountain rescue service, knows the surrounding peaks almost as well as the Lindenhof.

His extensive know-how is also appreciated by television and Heribert is therefore active as an expert adviser and safety officer for the TV series "Die Bergretter". His son Lukas studied tourism in Innsbruck and is responsible for marketing the hotel, while his sister Eva-Maria works at the Diakonie workshop in Schladming.

History of the hotel

As a popular holiday destination for people from all over the world, Ramsau am Dachstein has a relatively young history compared to other Austrian regions. Johann and Brigitte Walcher were pioneers in developing the area for tourism. They recognised the enormous potential of the area early on and began building the Hotel Lärchenhof in 1961.
At that time, the bricks still had to be transported to the upper floors on horseback and so it took a whole five years to complete. Spurred on by the success of the endeavour, the couple decided to build another hotel – the Hotel Rösslhof, which opened in 1976. So now there were already two hotels, but also a "problem": The Walchers had four children and the desire to be able to hand over a hotel to each of them one day. And so, in 1988, hotel number three was created – the Lindenhof.
Last but not least, the Ramsbergerhof was also converted into a tourist business in order to be able to offer "farm holidays" there.

Today, the Lindenhof is run by Brigitte and Johann's daughter Petra (married name Eisl) and her husband Heribert and has long since become a top destination in the entire Schladming-Dachstein region as a Green Hotel that has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel.

This naturally fills Mum Brigitte, who enjoys her retirement in the "Villa Lindenhof" directly behind the Lindenhof, which she also built herself, with great joy and a great deal of pride.

Philosophy of the hotel

Hospitality is in our nature.

Our 4-star superior hotel is a real family business – in both senses of the word. Because on the one hand, our Lindenhof is the ideal place for a family holiday, and on the other hand, we as the Eisl family run our hotel with great joy and passion. And what you enjoy doing, you do particularly well. That's why you can expect genuine hospitality and warmth from us, which is certainly one reason why many of our guests have already become regulars. Our staff will be happy to help and advise you at any time to make your holiday with us an all-round successful experience.

Regionality and sustainability

At the Lindenhof, we attach great importance to regionality and sustainability – both in the preparation of our dishes and in the furnishings of our hotel. We source a large number of products from farmers in the immediate vicinity and local craftsmen and materials are used for the interior. Our entire facility is heated using CO2-neutral pellets and solar energy. In this way, we do our part to preserve the magnificent natural environment for future generations

Awarded the Austrian Ecolabel

For these efforts, we were awarded the Austrian Ecolabel in 2020, which is why we can officially call ourselves a "Green Hotel". This makes us proud and at the same time encourages us in our efforts to run the Lindenhof in harmony with nature.
